Every gardener knows the feeling of dirt covered hands (and knees, and elbows...). This cleansing tallow and lard soap is mixed with organic cornmeal to give you a little extra scrubbing power and made with petals and tea from the calendula plant, reported to have skin healing properties. Scented with citronella and lemongrass to discourage pesky bugs. Net Wt. 4 oz.
Why lard and tallow?
Lard and tallow make a hard, long lasting bar of soap that is gentle on your skin but tough on dirt and grime. This is not the harsh, caustic soap that great grandma made in a cauldron in the back yard. I make this soap with a careful attention to ingredient ratios, which means there is no lye left in this soap, just saponified lard and tallow and the mild scent of essential oils.
Where do your ingredients come from?
I get my lard and tallow from small sustainable farms. Their cows spend their lives on pasture, munching fresh grass and hay, while the pigs root in the woods and fields and enjoy apple pressings from the cider mill and barley mash from the local brewery.
